Bach Fugue on the BassA bach fugue and other classical bass lines are great for getting your chops in gear.
First... have a listen! Bach lines work nice on stringed instruments because they are so melodic and don't make large tonal jumps that are so hard to do on the bass or guitar. This Bach (or Johan Sebastian Bach) Fugue is an excerpt from one of his most famous called, "Little Fugue in G Minor". This piece is built on the natural minor scale, or aeolian. The 8va above the bass notation means that this is played one octave above what is acctually written.
Congratulations if you can get this bass line under your fingers it's very challenging. Back to advanced bass lessons... Back to beginner bass lessons... More on the bach fugue on Wikipedia... |
